  2. Ok, ran the frst64. it ran for about 1 minute and locked up.  Couldn't terminate the process so i restarted my pc and it didn't continue to run after restart.

it did generate a log which i am attaching.  additionally, i got a notice that my malwarebytes license is out of date so i know something is working.

Additionally, when we are done with this pc, I have a second pc that is acting the same way so we'll have to work on it when we get this one cleaned.

    thanks,

  3. well i have more info now.

I got the first two logs now.  I have no idea why it is running now.  I have restarted my pc a few times, turned off windows update as the host service was high, ran rkill and tdss killer, ran anti spyware and deleted some cookies, and did a virus scan..

Now, I have the first 2 logs and have attached them.  However, mbam-check I stll can't download from the page as the connection times out.

    thanks

  4. yikes, your instructions were very clear but significant problems.....I tried both my browsers, firefox and intenet explorer, neither will load the download page for mbam-clean.exe.

from there i went to the diag logs.  what a problem.

FRST. exe generates at least 5 errors when initially trying to run, after i continue through all the errors and finally run the scan i can see the frst log in notepad....however, it won't save to desktop, doc's, downloads or anything.  To get the log, i had to copy the entire log in notepad and rename it WITHOUT FRST in the title and now will save to my desktop.....log 1.

I have no idea where the 2nd log, addition.txt saved, doubtful if it saved anywhere.

the 3rd log i can't access the download page to run mbam-check.exe.

so as for the first log, ive attached the frst log (log1)

I've never seen such a strange occurrence in accessing pages, running programs, and saving files. ughh..

I don't know where we go from here.

  5. Hello, i noticed on my computer this morning that MWB show's a red flag on it in the system tray this morning.  Says databases out of date.

I'm running windows 7, with MWB version 2.2.0.1024, database version 2016.9.14.2

I've tried updating the database - can't access the server.  started on the steps to do a clean reinstall.  can't access the mbam clean file.

this also appears to be happening on another machine i have as well.

    any help would be appreciated.

    thank you,

    Gus in Vegas
