Thanks for taking time to suggest a solution, it worked! At first I couldn't uninstall Malwarebytes, but I rebooted the system and then I was able to uninstall. I also used MBAM-clean after the uninstall. Installed 3.0.5 and it is working fine.

I installed 3.0.5 and now I have the same problem as K9876. Exploit Protection was turned off (not by me) and when I turn it on, it stays on "Starting...". I know it is the weekend (Happy New Year!), but I do hope someone is looking in to this.

This is the second time Malwarebytes has stopped working. The first time, I reinstalled the software and it looked like everything was okay. That was two days ago. This is the information from the second failure:

You could try MBAM-clean before installing 3.0.5, it worked for me.
