  1. I have an icon on my Firefox bookmarks bar and when I click on it mbam.exe which is: Binary File ... opens and my options are to Save File or Cancel.  I wonder how did an exe file get on my bookmarks bar and is it safe to delete.  Screenshots attached.

    Windows 10  Malwarebytes | Premium version: 3.0.6.1469

  2. Hello and

That link is fine it is from CNet one of the download mirrors. Just click on the Green Download Now button.... don't click on any sponsored links...

Thanks, that's what I thought ... they make it too easy to make a mistake. Thanks for your help.

  3. I recommended Malwarebytes to a friend who is having major problems ... I suggested she try the free version first. When she clicked on (malwarebytes.org) 'Download free version' she went to snet Download.com http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button ... it appears you will be downloading Malwarebytes version 1.50.1 and somehow she ended up with ARO 211 ... that's not Malwarebytes is it?

  4. Hi LinKot -

Basically Yes, very good together - Some of our senior members /experts run NOD32 as well as Malwarebytes in real time - So far nobody has had any problems that I have seen -

    Thank You - :)

EDIT - If you are picking things up After they have bypassed your A/V then you do need the prptection of Malwarebytes full time scanner -

For the cheap price it is a Once only cost - There are No yearly renewal fees as with oyher products -

Plus you also have the forum backup at any time and as a paid customer you get preference if you do have problems -

I posted more below (my reply from esetNOD32) indicating that it's not a good idea to run them together. I'm going to try running them together based on the information you provided. What might I expect if I run into trouble?

  5. Wondering if when obtaining licenses if I can buy one for my son's pc ... doesn't live at home (college) - would that be pushing the discount offer?

I'm going to take your advise and run esetNOD32 along with Malwarebytes ... what would I expect if I'm having a conflict?

I would appreciate your advise on eset's comments:

An ESET Customer Care Representative has updated this case with the following information:

Hi there, to use a "Layered Defence" is a very good idea. However using realtime scanning of more than one product may cause issues.

I personally use the following as a backup to my ESET Software:

Please be aware that these programs also detect harmless

  6. Hi Again -

You simply click on the purchase panel on the front of the Walwarebytes , choose how many licenses you wish to purchase then choose your payment method - You then get an email with your license and key# to activate the program -

(Just between us, try Cnet downloader as it was offering an extra 5% discount last week if you downloaded from their site - Not sure if it is still valid - Same program as they are one of our bigger downloaders)

EDIT - Your choice as to how you use them - But once it is on one computer you must contact them again to change to another computer - If you buy another computer it is transferable when you get the new unit -

    Thank You - :)

EDIT/EDIT - Always keep the codes you are sent in an email as you need these to reactivate if you ever change your computer or Un/Re install the program -

So nice. Thanks so much. I'm excited about additional security.

Thanks so much for answering my question. Thanks too for your footer info! I didn't know the price was a one time purchase! That's a deal maker ... I'll buy two licenses!

  10. I understand that esetNOD32 is an antivirus and Malwarebytes is malware, adware, spyware related. I occassional run the free version of Malwarebytes and it picks up things esetNOD32 doesn't catch. Trouble is, Malwarebytes is finding after they installed. I want to purchase Malwarebytes so it runs and stops intrusions ... my question is ... are the two compatible?

    Thanks

  11. Something attacked my computer ... Malwarebytes found one and esetNOD32 found a 'threat' ... both have been removed. Things seem to be okay but I can't update Malwarebytes ... I get the following:

An error occurred. Please report the following error code to the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware support team.

    Error code: 732 (12029, 0)

Is this the correct place to report this? Can you help?

Also, Internet Explorer can't display the page! Says something about my connection ... however, I can connect using Firefox!

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

  12. The protection module will monitor each application as it launches, and it will ask you what to do when it detects a malicious application trying to load.

Note that you may have to add the following files to the exclusions list in your anti-virus software before starting the protection module:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mbam.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

    C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

    C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

    C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

Oh-oh. I have ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 and don't know how to edit their software ... You said I "may have to" ... do I? Can you help me?
