Folders are present, but empty.

 

There are also now a load of folders on C: named "scoped_dir" all with different four digit numbers appended.  All these appear to be empty also.

 

A lot of programs aren't working, Chrome etc &

 

Feel a format & reinstall coming on...

Still non stop heuristic scan with rapidly increasing detections.

 

Now all user documents, pictures etc are gone....

OK, restarted & did process over, fixlog attached.

 

Ran ComboFix

 

Got to Stage 50 & gave error message "The batch file cannot be found"

Just realised what a handsome chap I am!!

 

I couldn't find a log file for it.

 

Didn't want to reboot in case I break it even more!!

After a while, black screen with moveable mouse cursor.. left it overnight, still the same?

It's only giving me one file, FRST.txt.

 

It didn't create the additional file this time?

Hi all,

 

First post, so please be gentle!

 

Trying to clean a friends laptop, installed Mbam free 2.0.2.1012 on Win 7 64 SP1 (Acer Aspire 5733)

 

It scanned ok, with several (low hundreds) detected items.

 

Then moved onto Heuristic scan and the detected items went into overdrive, reaching over 300k items at one stage!

 

The scan was left running overnight, I checked again after approx 12 hours, the time elapsed showed just over 8 hours.

 

Used the mbam clean to uninstall, re-installed and tried again with same results.

 

This time I left it running for over 24 hours (on Heuristic) and came back this morning to find that it had stopped responding.

 

Installed & ran Ccleaner & SpyBot, cleaned several items & tried Mbam again with the same result as before.

 

I found one thread here that had similar issue with Heuristic scan not working, but it had no detections, whereas this one says I've the most infected computer in the world!

 

Any advice & help appreciated!
