  1. Hello wizmut,

I'm happy that you know how to disable services, but remember that if you apply the changes as i show you on the image, this service should be now disabled. Please consider that it's not the same using the "disable" option than access to, the properties of that service and disable from inside.

Otherwise, please tell me and i will sent a PM to an admin.

    Regards,

I don't think you understand my question on my first posts.

While we await an expert answer, I suppose the question they might want to know is: why do you want to permanently disable the scheduler service?

The ability to schedule automated tasks (update checks and scans) is one of the most useful features of MBAM 2.x PREMIUM.

Since database updates are shipped 10-12 times a day, the ability to silently automate that task allows one to stay abreast of zero-hour and zero-day threats.

Relying on manual updating seems cumbersome and could compromise one's security.

In any event, I'm sure AdvancedSetup will be able to explain whether or not it's possible to do what you would like without breaking the program.

Thanks very much for your patience,

Personally i like manual updating signatures of AV and antimalware products, this goes for Windows updates too. Recently i experienced some strange behavior of MBAM, it started automatically checking my HD for malware even though i don't have any tasks in the scheduler. So i decided to disable it and hope that will prevent something like that happening again.

  3. Hi daledoc1,

But, if you delete the scheduler operations, the service will not work because there's no way to terminate it, unless you uninstall Malwarebytes and i supose the user doesn't want to do this.

I have no scheduler tasks, it's about the MBAMScheduler service which is automatically loaded during booting. I wish to have this window service disabled permanently. The thing is it gets reactivated after a couple of times restarting the computer. I think updating signatures could have triggered this behavior.

    Hi, @XpertAdvisor:

Unfortunately that is NOT the answer to the OP's question.

Scheduling scans and update checks is NOT the same as disabling a Windows service. :(

This is a question best answered by the staff and product team.

    @ wizmut:

Please wait for AdvancedSetup or another qualified staff member to answer your question.

    Thanks for your patience,

Okay, hope to get an answer from the technical staff.
