  1. I have the paid version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.  I am glad to see that my lifetime license will stay the same.  I do have a question though.

The paid version is now a 1yr/3pc license.  Is the 3 PC's just for new purchases, or do they work for people who already have the paid version.  I guess what I'm asking is, the people who have already paid, are they stuck with just the 1 PC?

  2. I was trying to access PercentageCalculator, but Malwarebytes is now blocking.  I've used it before, and I don't see any changes in it.  I scanned the URL with VirusTotal, and the detection ratio is 0/52.  I also scanned the IP with IPVoid, and the detection ratio is 0/37.

  3. When I installed the latest beta version on this computer (first time MBAM on this one), I noticed something wrong.

General Setting > Explorer context menu entry

After installed, it's set to No.  After I click Restore Default Settings, it changes to Yes.

If Yes is the default (which I do agree with), then it shouldn't be set to No after installing it.

  4. That is a good thought, the tray icon should have symbols or whatever to signify certain actions in progress.

I noticed that there was a change that it's very good between 1.75 and 2.00.  In 1.75, if any form of protection is disabled, the icon turns gray instead of blue.  However, 2.00 stays blue even when both protections are disabled.  With it not turning gray, I often times forget to turn it back on.  I think you need to have a symbol or color difference when protection is not at its fullest.

  5. I do agree with the size of the alerts.  They are way too big.  I think it was fine in 1.75, maybe enlarge it just a little with 2.00, but not this much.  The size of it, can block things from being seen.  The bigger the popup, the more it blocks.  I can see many people not liking the popups, and some possibly uninstalling it because of it.  I recommend shrinking it a great amount, to maybe just a little bigger than the 1.75 alerts.

I agree with Francois_Blais.  There are a lot of programs that gets released in a hurry when there isn't really a need for such a rush, resulting in bugs in the release and poor customer experience.  There are some things that do need a rush, but alot don't, and MBAM doesn't.  If MBAM is not finished, contains bugs, or has additions planned in a near future, you should wait to release it until it's completely finished.

  6. I really like how the web protection lets the user know what website was blocked in 2.00, compared to just the IP address in the alert in 1.75.  There is room for improvement though.

In 1.75, an alert of an IP block doesn't really give much information about what it was.  It can leave users confused and clueless, and continue the same browsing habit, which makes them face the threat again.

With 2.00, it lets the user know what website was blocked.  With it explaining what website was blocked, users can be more understanding, and can adjust their browsing activity accordingly so they don't continue to face the same risk.

One improvement that would be good though, is explaining why it was blocked.  Was it bad reputation, malicious attack, malicious java script, PUP display, what threat?  Explaining why it was blocked would be a great improvement.

In conclusion, the way MBAM alerts the user of websites being blocked, has improved to a more standard alert by stating what website, which is great.  It could still use improvements about why it was blocked though.
