  1. Ok elise, ran combofix and log created however...tried to launch IE to log into malwarebytes.org and now receive an error that the IE exe file is an illegal operation attempted on a registry key marked for deletion. So...now working on my droid. Will transfer file to another puter and attach it shortly

  2. Thanks so much for you help. It seems to be somewhat successful. I ran the combofix from bleepingcomputer.com. I turned off my Trend Micro Titanium first. At the end of the program it gave me a prompt that said that my files should not be visible. I did not get any other prompts or a txt file. My desktop files are now on my desktop as far as i can tell. I also checked my pictures and music and all seem to be there. I did notice that my screensaver and background settings did not return. No big deal to reset them, just didn't know if it was indicative that i still had an issue. I have not tried to reboot as of yet. I'll wait your instructions regarding the lack of a txt file from Windows Recovery Console. If the WCR ran, it was not apparent to me.

    Hello and :welcome:

First of all, please download and run Unhide.exe and see if that restores your files.

    COMBOFIX

    ---------------

Please download ComboFix from one of these locations:

    Bleepingcomputer
    ForoSpyware

    • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. (Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive.)
    • Double click on Combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
    • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
    • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, or if you are running Vista, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

    Query_RC.gif

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

    RC_successful.gif

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\Combofix.txt in your next reply.

  3. Ok guys, so i downloaded and ran MBAM and TDSSKIller for the Scan system malware. I followed the directions of both programs. I have since rebooted. How do i know i've removed it all? My desktop setting did not to return to original and i don't see any of my files (pics, music, MSoffice files, etc). Is this normal?

On the advice of this site i downloaded and run DDS. Files are attached below

    Attach.txt
