I read Fatdcuk's posting from June 15th of 2009. The issue he describes with respect to the System Security virus is exactly what I'm experiencing, as well. I am running Win 7, Computer Associates Security Center and MBAM Pro. I cannot get MBAM to run, even after renaming the exe file to winlogon.exe as he suggested. Plus, I'm getting an error in CA saying I need to update, but have done so and it's not registering. None of my software (Office, Outlook, Media Player, etc.) will run, only some core Windows components and my browser.

I also downloaded and renamed the sysinternals file as you said; it won't run, either. I've run sfc/scannow several times; nothing found.

Any other suggestions on specific files to search for? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

You are sure your system is infected with System Security? Maybe the new version of System Security - 2011. If I'm right, try the instructions on this thread:

If not, please follow the instructions here and I will consider myself to what we are dealing.
