Okay first thank you exile360 -- Yesterday, 10:47 AM for your help with previous query.

Now, something, somewhere on my system is trying to get out on "Who is" says its in Russia?

Have had Google re direct virus for years and nothing I've tried, and I've tried a lot!!! gets rid of it. But whatever is being blocked by MBAM seems to be it, so am assuming I might have a piece of software that is trying to update that I need to uninstall. Anyone know of any likely suspects. Please do not suggest I search for TDSS in System 32 - it isn't there.

Thanks on advance for any feedback

Hello again :)

Did you give TCPView a try as described in the FAQ I pointed you to in your previous thread? It should reveal what process is trying to access that IP.

That being said, if you do in fact have a redirect virus (i.e., if Google searches come up with malicious/suspicious results etc.), then it may be TDSS, or an entirely different infection as there are many, some of which can be very difficult to actually find on the system, which may be causing this behavior (most are rootkits, which normal tools and scanners will not be able to see).

If you do suspect that the system has been compromised by some infection, then please do the following and we'll help you find the infection and eliminate it from your system:

Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then create a NEW topic here.

One of the expert helpers there will give you one on one assistance when one becomes available.

Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help.

If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you.

If you prefer to be assisted via email you may contact support@malwarebytes.org and one of our support staff members will assist you directly.

Thanks :)
