Ran a malwarebytes full scan today with latest update and detected loads of ramnit infected files, I did a full scan with updated version yesterday and found nothing so this has really come out of nowhere, it definitely wasn't in the system yesterday.

After reading up on the ramnit virus, I realise it was my brother using a usb from an old computer he revived to this computer, so Im guessing that his old computer is riddled with viruses and that the usb has carried the ramnit virus over.

There haven't been any symptoms at all, the only reason I knew I had the virus was because of a scan. Every topic I've read about the ramnit virus has suggested a full system wipe, is that always the case? I don't want to come across ignorant or naive, but my computer seems fine and I really don't want to reformat it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
