Network Stuck At "Identifying"

My cousin was having issues with her laptop, due to some viruses she had. To make a long story short, I was able to remove the numerous viruses she had. The internet was working previously on her laptop when I was working on it, and I did not change any network settings on it. After restarting the laptop, in the Network and Sharing Center, it just keeps saying Identifying..., with the circle spinning next to it, for the connection it shows all full green bars. I plugged an Ethernet cord in, with no luck. I tried another laptop, and it works just fine, along with the other PC's connected via Ethernet cord.

I'm just a home user, but it seems that many of the infections circulating these days are disabling network adapters.

Even when the computer is cleaned, there are still connectivity issues.

The malware removal forums here have had several recent and current threads about this.

The safest bet would be first to have one of our experts check the system to be sure the infection is gone.

Then, if there are still issues afterwards, he/she can refer you back here for additional assistance.

Doing so can result in system changes which may hinder the attempts by a helper to clean your machine.
