Malware Pro

Recommended Posts

I purchased 2 pro licenses and installed one on my laptop and the other on my desktop, on my desktop, malware bytes automatically downloads and installs the latest update and seems at times to block intrusions, however on my laptop, I have to manually update the definitions and it has never seem to block any malware unless I do a scan. I use ESET AV on both systems. Anyone have a clue why one seems to work and other works like the freeware version, even though it shows like it is the Pro version on both.

Greetings :)

On your laptop, please open Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and click on the Protection tab and then verify that the following are all checked:

  • Enable protection module.
  • Start protection module with Windows.
  • Start file execution blocking when protection module starts.
  • Start malicious website blocking when protection module starts.
  • Show tooltip balloon when malicious website is blocked.

Next, click on Scheduler and if you've not done so already, schedule updates and scans as you see fit. You may refer to Section O of our FAQ for details on how to use the scheduler.

Now, open your internet browser and attempt to visit the website iptest.malwarebytes.org. This is a safe site that we set up for testing the malicious website blocking component in Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, so it will not harm your computer, but it should be blocked and you should see the balloon tooltip in your system tray when the website is blocked. If you do not, then verify that your Windows taskbar is not set to hide the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware icon and notifications.
