jcr Posted October 27, 2011 ID:489169 Share Posted October 27, 2011 My McAfee scanner apparently found eight viruses. I don't remember the exact filenames but they were fakealert.gen or similar. it said it had cleaned them. a minute later i have about 20 windows opening saying i am getting a corrupt hard disk, RAM is dangerously low etc. It asked me to click through to scan and fix - but i have not done this.I ran MBAM and it found various PUM - e.g. start menu. i deleted these but on startup still the same problems. it was also preventing me opening any programmes or updating the database of MBAm.i am now in safe mode have managed to update the database from the link on the forum. When i go to run explorer all my files are hiddenI am running another MBAM scan now which will take a while. in the meantime here is my dds file.Any help or ideas gratefully received.dds.txt
