Hi...not sure if anyone has ever gotten rid of this insidious thing...I've used almost everything from Anti-Malware, AVG, Webroot and even some of the specialty things like combo fix...nothing seems to get rid of this thing. And actually I usually find nothing, even with a full scan. It keeps hijacking my browser. I also get high memory use in my process list of iexplore.exe 32...it says internet explorer...but I don't have it open, ever. And sometimes it just opens up by itself...I'm sure that's another virus. My laptop also takes forever to boot up and is unusually slow in general.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, I would be greatly appreciate any advice...I'm pulling my hair out over this...and there aint much left....

Thanks in advance for any help!

Scott

Hi and Welcome to Malware bytes',

Please perform the steps outlined in this topic and post (copy and paste) the requested logs into your next topic reply:

http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=9573

If you ran Combofix, I also need to see that log located here:

C:\combofix.txt

Finally - there is another scan report that I need to analyze your infection, please perform these TDSSKiller directions as follows -

Some background information on what we're planning to do can be found HERE

Please read carefully and follow these steps.

  • Download TDSSKiller and save it to your Desktop.
  • Double-click on TDSSKiller.exe to run the application, then on Start Scan.
  • If an infected file is detected, the default action will be Cure, click on Continue.

  • If a suspicious file is detected, the default action will be Skip, click on Continue.

  • It may ask you to reboot the computer to complete the process. Click on Reboot Now.
    TDSSKillerCompleted.png
  • If no reboot is require, click on Report. A log file should appear. Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.
  • If a reboot is required, the report can also be found in your root directory, (usually C:\ folder) in the form of "TDSSKiller.[Version]_[Date]_[Time]_log.txt". Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.
