Broswers hijacked, systems hosed, Anti-Malware won't run - help!!!

It looks like I have very similar problems to some others. Specifically,

1. All of my browsers are hijacked when I click on links (they go to adware sites). I also get spontaneous pop-ups.

2. Any attempt to go to an anti-virus site is blocked

3. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware software was broken by the virus, and cannot reinstall successfully or run (the process starts, then terminates automatically after a few seconds)

4. The PC locks up periodically

This is by far the worst virus my PC has ever had. Please help! I am unable to successfully launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (even when I've copied it over from another machine using a CD). However, by copying a file from another PC I was able to run HijackThis, and here is the log file:

Unfortunately, I am unable to successfully run MBAM. When I double-click on it, it goes to an hourglass for a few seconds, then nothing happens. I tried reinstalling MBAM, but that doesn't work either. By renaming the install file, I was able to get the install to begin, but it hangs up in the middle. What should I try next?

Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading ComboFix to your
DESKTOP
:
how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

NOTE!!:

You must save and run
ComboFix.exe
on your DESKTOP and not from any other folder.

Also,
DO NOT
click the mouse or launch any other applications while this is running or it may stall the program

Additional links to download the tool:

Note:

The
Windows Recovery Console
will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
  • Click
    Yes
to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

  • When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

  • Please post the
    C:\ComboFix.txt
    along with a
    new HijackThis log
so we may continue cleaning the system.

Disable your screen saver and power saver, make sure you DO NOT touch the mouse or keyboard while Combofix is running.

Progress!!! I ran ComboFix, and it just completed (after a scary reboot or two that re-enabled my anti virus scanners). I now at least have access to the Malwarebytes web site, and was able to kick off a MBAM scan. I'm not sure if I'm totally clean yet, but this is amazing - I cannot thank you enough.

Attached are my ComboFix logfile, HJT log (renamed as *.txt as it wouldn't allow me to attach a .log file). Also attached is my MBAM log file (it just finished running - no errors found!).

If you see other issues with my machine, please let me know. I will try to verify that all is working correctly, but probably won't do it until tomorrow.

This service is a lifesaver!!!
