I have a computer that has 'something' on it that will not allow it to boot into windows. When I try it stops at "starting windows" and then reboots. If I try to boot into safemode it stops at the disk.sys line. I have tried to run the bootable disks of Dr. web, Kapersky recovery, and a third (that I don't recall now - not avast but 'a' something) anyway none of them find any problems. Then I tried deleting the bootcache file and copying files over from a non-infected machine. That did not work and the bootcache is not being rebuilt. Needless to say something is messing with the boot before windows starts.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am not a tech-newbie and did run the MB free on this machine prior to this happening (and it came up clean).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Will
