Can't Run Malwarebytes

I've downloaded the most recent version via CNET. I'm using Windows XP service pack 3 and am having problems with the Guard Online virus. I was able to download and install from CNET it then updates the program and offers to run a scan. It tells me it's enumerating prior to scan then closes. If I try clicking on the icon to run the scan it tells me that it can't find the path and that I may not have authorization?????

I tried downloading again and it goes through the same thing, offers the scan, I select it, it enumerates then terminates.

The infection is likely preventing MBAM from running (this is quite common)

Alas, we cannot work on malware detection/removal in this part of the General MBAM forum.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do NOT make any further changes to your computer such as (Install/Uninstall programs; use special fix tools; delete files; edit the registry; OR use temp file cleaners, etc...) unless advised by a malware removal helper. Doing so can result in system changes which may hinder the attempts by a helper to clean your machine.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please DO NOT post back to your topic or "bump" it within the first 48 hours.
