Vista X64:Zero Access Rootkit BSOD Computer doesn't boot Please Help

Recommended Posts

My computer is a Dell Inspirion 530 with Vista x64. I had an recent infection and used ESET and Spyware Doctor to remove it.I had thought that they were successfully removed until I did a reboot. Upon booting up I get a BSOD that reads: Stop: c0000135 {Unable to Locate Component} This application has failed to start because consrv was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. If I try to go into repair mode, it starts to load up but then a logon appears with the name "Other User". I've tried every combination of logons that I know of for my computer and not one of them works. I've tried host/user, host\user, user...etc and a logon error keeps returning with "The specified domain does not exist". This computer is not part of a domain.

I am not able to get windows to start up so downloading and running any programs to get logs is impossible at this time. The only access I have is to use the Recovery CD to get into a dos prompt.

Your help and assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

These are links to Anti-virus vendors that offer free LiveCD or Rescue CD files that are used to boot from for repair of unbootable and damaged systems, rescue data, scan the system for virus infections. Burn it as an image to a disk to get a bootable CD. All (except Avira) are in the ISO Image file format. Avira uses an EXE that has built-in CD burning capability.

If you are not sure how to burn an image, please read How to write a CD/DVD image or ISO. If you need a FREE utility to burn the ISO image, download and use ImgBurn.

Let me know how it goes.

I would try Kaspersky's and Avira's first.
