Limited User Accounts

Recommended Posts

Greetings :)

Yes it does, but you'll need to set the scheduler settings from an administrative user account and set the scheduled items to run silently from the System account. That is required for updates while scans can run from the limited account, they will not have admin privileges, which may limit what can be removed (the scan won't have admin privileges, so any item in certain locations like HKLM in the registry or the Windows folder would not be removable by such a scan). The limitation of such a scan would be that it won't scan the HKCU registry hive of the limited user account, so the best practice would be to schedule both a silent scan from the system account as well as a normal scheduled scan, both set to remove any detected threats, likely set to run at different times as running two scheduled scans concurrently would bog down the computer.

Thank you! That explains my concern perfectly. Great solution.
