Arthoc Posted October 6, 2011 ID:482882 Share Posted October 6, 2011 After removing the application and terminating any malicious runtimes. The symptoms of my searches being redirected continue. My antivirus software including malwarebytes does not work. Everything seems fine now but I am still redirected past that everything works accordingly and my computer runs at the same speed and appears to be in perfect condition. I am at a loss to what is going on at this point and what to do to remove whatever malware remains on my computer since my antivirus and yours have been unable to even run a scan to find anything. GoGirl Posted October 7, 2011 ID:483193 Share Posted October 7, 2011 I booted my computer into Safe Mode (F8 while your computer is starting up) and scanned my computer with Malwarebytes. When it completed, I ran ComboFix (also from Safe Mode, though you should make sure that any Anti-Virus programs you have are not running in the regular Windows [NOT Safe Mode], or ComboFix will tell you to turn them off, and it's just easier to turn them off before you go into Safe Mode). It doesn't take too long to run ComboFix, however, at times it may seem like it isn't doing anything, so just be patient. When it is done with its scan, it will reboot your system into regular Windows and take a few minutes to create a log file. ComboFix found virus files that none of the other anti-malware did, so when done, my system seemed to be back to normal. Fingers crossed. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
