Hey Y'all :)

I have a problem that is similar to others that I have read on here, but it has a slight twist to it.

When my computer starts MB gives the following message "An error has occurred. Please report this error code to our support team: PROGRAM_ERROR_LOAD_DATABASE(2, 2, CreateSDK)

The system cannot find the file specified."

Based on what I've read in other post's I have run the DDS file and am pasting and attaching the info on it - I also have my Receipt where I bought three (3) MB if you need it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you need more info please let me know.

Hello TheWatchMan: :welcome:

Please do a MBAM clean re-install by doing the following:

  1. Download and run the latest mbam-clean.exe.
  2. Restart your computer, please allow it to do so - VERY IMPORTANT!
  3. Disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here.
  4. Reactivate the PRO version of the program, if applicable, using the license within the boxed version or was sent via email.
  5. Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration, if applicable. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
  6. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the PRO version.
  7. Setup any process/folder/file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Please use the "ADD REPLY" Add-Reply.png button instead of other ones when you start replying.

Please let us know if & how you succeeded. :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm having this problem again

The ONLY way to get MB to work is to use the "Clean.exe" file and a clean re-install - then it will work for the rest of the day, however, the next day it won't start and it gives me the same message as before:

"An error has occurred. Please report this error code to our support team: PROGRAM_ERROR_LOAD_DATABASE(2, 2, CreateSDK)

The system cannot find the file specified."

As you can imagine, this is getting old really quick.... What can I do to stop this??

Thanks and God Bless,

Jerry

Hello TheWatchMan:

My non-authoritative suggestion would be the clean re-install which achieves the same goal and additionally renews all MBAM installed files and re-establishes easily corrupted registry entries. It also has the extra benefit of somewhat fewer (human error laden) steps. Of course if you're using the PRO version, the product ID/key, customized schedules and AV exclusions must be re-entered.

HTH :)

Delete Rules File XP

Your system's MBAM database file (rules.ref) may have inexplicably become corrupted. To renew your MBAM database file, please follow these procedures:

Please left-click Start, Run... and Copy/Paste the code from only the one appropriate box below, into the Run box and left-click OK.

Windows XP or Windows 2000:

cmd.exe /c del /f /q "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref"

A command (cmd) window (black screen window) should briefly flash on the display and disappear.

Then run MBAM. A MBAM message box should open that says: "The database could not be found. Would you like to download a new copy?"

Left-click Yes. The database should download soon and update from version 0 to the latest version.

Please use the Add-Reply.png button instead of other ones to reply.

Please let us know if this procedure corrected your issue. Thank you for your patience. :)
