PING.exe Windows 7

Recommended Posts

My computer grew sluggish and the internet browser started redirecting when I would click a link. When I opened task manager and looked at the processes from all users, PING.exe was running between 600,000 and 700,000 Kb. I ended the process and it returned immediately. I updated and ran Malwarebytes and it showed nothing. I ran AVG several times, but it also returned nothing of value. I have tried running TDSSKiller with zero results. I have also read that reformatting the drive will not get rid of the virus. Any help would be appreciated.

Please try to run MBAM and update it and do a Quick Scan and post back that log.

Then go ahead and try to run DDS and post back it's logs as well.

and save it to your desktop

Disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.

Once downloaded you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.

Then double click
to run the tool.

When done, the
will open.

Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.

When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:

  1. DDS.txt

  2. Attach.txt

  • Save both reports to your desktop
