I've tried everything.

So...I've tried everything.

The virus shuts down any malware scanning program or virus scanning program before it can detect anything, it's disabled my system restore, mcafee, and has hijacked my browsers to I can't view most malware sites or download programs (not that it matters since they don't work). I managed to search this through bing.com on google chrome and download as many programs as possible. None work. Even combofix gets stuck on the "scanning your computer for 10 minuets or more" promt.

I'm honestly not sure how I got this virus, only think I can think of is going to break.com and watching video's on college humor.

Hijackthis is the only scanning program I've managed to get to work, so here is my log:

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4

I've been planning on getting a new computer anyway (probably an appple), I just want to make sure that when I transfer my music and pictures I'm not dragging over a mess with me.

Thank you so much for any help you can provide. It is a wonderful service you all provide here.

  • Staff

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

  • Download the file TDSSKiller.zip and extract it into a folder on the infected PC.
  • Execute the file TDSSKiller.exe by double-clicking on it.
  • Wait for the scan and disinfection process to be over.
  • When its work is over, the utility prompts for a reboot to complete the disinfection.

By default, the utility outputs runtime log into the system disk root directory (the disk where the operating system is installed, C:\ as a rule).

The log is like UtilityName.Version_Date_Time_log.txt.

for example, C:\TDSSKiller.2.2.0_20.12.2009_15.31.43_log.txt.

Please post that log here.

Next, download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post only DDS.txt directly into your reply.
