Computer has been infected very badly

My computer started out where when I started it nothing was working and the only thing that would start was a fake virus protecttion that said a threat was found. I immediately entered safe mode and restored to an earlier date. Luckily this got me passed that startup of the fake security scan.

I have tried several steps to try to fix the following issues with no luck:

1. Websites get re-directed if I click on the link through a google search but I can directly paste the url and it will go to the link.

2. I start MalwareBytes and for example to a quick scan but after 30 seconds it closes and then I am not able to start it again. It says windows cannot access path.

3. My virus protection open but when I run a scan it completes in a few seconds without really doing a scan.

If there is any information that anybody has it would be much appreciated!!

Alas, we cannot work on malware detection/removal in this part of the PC Help MBAM forum.

Please read the following to get started on the cleaning process:

• Do not run any type of temporary file cleaners or other programs or tools until someone has assisted and guided you.

OPTION 1

As we don't deal with malware removal in this PC Help Forum, you need to start a topic in the Malware Removal forum so that a qualified helper can help you fix any malware related problems/infections you may have.

• First, please print out, read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete.
  
• If the infection has so crippled the computer that you cannot follow most/all of the requested steps, then please just proceed as advised below:
  
• Then please post a NEW topic in the Malware Removal forum.
