event view question

i was clearing the event view and i noticed this in the security sub section what does it mean it says itsa success audit

The audit log was cleared

Primary User Name: SYSTEM

Primary Domain: NT AUTHORITY

Primary Logon ID: (0x0,0x3E7)

Client User Name: jay

Client Domain: JUSTIN-C5D1D952

Client Logon ID: (0x0,0x19112)

what does all that mean

The log files under the Security are basically telling you that you logged into windows successfully or logged out successfully. It would show errors in there if someone kept typing in the wrong password.

ok thanks so im starting to think it might have been me who cleared it by mistake and thats how that got there because i clear the other logs to keep it from getting cluttered

Yes that most likely was the cause, just keep an eye on it to see if it happens again without you clearing the logs.

No there is a default setting where windows starts to clear the logs if they get too large. (I am not sure if this is the case on windows 7)

yeah i use windows xp sp3 and i tend to clear the logs for when the computer turns on since its helpful
