Run Time error '0'

This message suddently came up when i clicked to do a scan,i then tried to uninstall it but same message came up.Why has this happened and am i infected.I recently installed Windows security essencials,but have now deleted it.I don't want to uninstall my ie 8 ,any easy way out of this,i am not great at computers

this is typically caused from an infection. the only way that i could run malewarebytes (sans errors 0 and 440) again was to uninstall IE8 all the way down to IE7. Then reinstall basic version of IE7 and reinstall malewarebytes. All of the uninstalling and reinstalling of IE can be performed in the control panel without having to use any windows installation disk.

Thankyou for reply,i went to google and downloaded a new one, as it was loading the error came up and suddently dissappeared again ,lucky enough.I now have it loaded and have performed a scan ,nothing found.Strange one.
