Error message after lasst weeks update

Recommended Posts

After I updated my Malwarebytes August 31, the program no longer loads and I get this message -- "Program_error_load_database (0,13,CreateSDK). I have 2 laptops, so on one I reloaded Malwarebytes and as long as I don't update it runs fine. If I update it kills that one too. Thanx for any help/suggestions. Cozybull

Hi, and welcome to MBAM, cozybull:

That error message commonly appears when there is some minor corruption in the definitions database.

(Although there can be other explanations, including infection.)

Please have a look at the FAQ-Section A: Item #20 for instructions on how to reset that file.

Please post back and let us know if that resolves the issue for you.

Please try the following and if the issue continues contact the support help desk and they will assist you further.

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.
