Please do the following and let us know if the issue persists

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Yes unfortunately the issue persists, I tried to turn off Norton, I re-started, re-installed, and it still acts the same. When I click the desktop icon Win7 asked for special permission to open. Also the automatic scheduler does not work, I have to update manually, even thought the schedule box is checked . . . I have a brand new zt computer, did not have this problem on my old computer (running Win98)???

Well our product does not run on Windows 98 so your old computer must have been running something else.

Perhaps my mistake. Do you have the paid Pro version or are you using the Free version of MBAM?

If you're using the free version then yes it is normal on Windows 7 for it to ask you to run any program that has the ability to make system changes.

Yes of course, it ran on Win XP; and Yes I paid for full version, the earlier advice did not work? would really like to get Malware running properly on Win7.

earlier attempt to turn Norton off, reboot, reinstall was not successful?
