Am running latest version of MBAM. Getting the error PROGRAM_ERROR_LOAD_DATABASE (0, 13, CreateSDK). I fixed it once by deleting rules.ref. It happened again. Deleting rules.ref did not work the second time. I followed the directions to run mbam clean and then re-install. That seemed to be fine, but 10 minutes ago, I opened MBAM to see if it would open and it was fine. Then it did a scheduled update and I saw a message pop up that it updated successfully. For the hell of it, I then tried to open MBAM after the update and sure enough the error is back. The error is clearly related to the updating.

What now?

Windows 7 64-bit SP-3

Hello Stevie D:

More than meets the eye may be involved here. For now, please do another clean re-install. I've passed this on to a Malwarebytes' staffer for further review.

  • Download and run the latest mbam-clean.exe.
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so - VERY IMPORTANT.
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here.
    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license within the boxed version or were sent via email if using the PRO version.
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the PRO version. Now setup any process/folder/file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Please let us know how it goes.

HTH :)

Hello Stevie D:

If the clean re-install is successful and yet another "PROGRAM_ERROR_LOAD_DATABASE (0, 13, CreateSDK)" soon follows, please run OTL for staff analysis:

Please download Oldtimer's latest OTL.exe to your Desktop.

  • Download the most recent OTL.exe from
here.
Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
OTL should now start. Change only the following settings:

Change Drivers to:
All
.

Change Standard Registry to:
All
.

Under File Scans, check that
File Age
is
30 Days
.

Click the
Run Scan
button. Do not change any other settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan shouldn't take long.

When the scan completes, it should open two Notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt (first run only). These are saved in the same location as OTL.exe
Please attach these 2 files in your next reply to your open topic.

Thank you for your continued patience. :)

I have run into this issue at least 10 times now (PROGRAM_ERROR_LOAD_DATABASE (0, 13, CreateSDK)) and have just been removing Malwarebytes from the problem machines. Is there a definitive fix or not? There is nothing within this thread that helps at all. Is there a thread that at least has some things to try other than the clean reinstall? I'm not going to run 20 different analysis programs and send in the results every time I run into this or I will be summarily fired for wasting time. Should I just continue removing Malwarebytes and recommending that customers not use it anymore or is there something that can be done to fix this without spending 2 or 3 hours a pop posting in the forum? I have been using and recommending Malwarebytes for years and hate to give it up if I don't have to. Thanks and any help is genuinely appreciated.

You can put back the older version for now until there is a fix and it will run just fine.

That makes sense to me...so far it is still working, but if I get the problem again, that is what I'm doing...or I'll wait for the next version and see if that fixes it.
