Installed Malwarebytes, now XP home not working

So my daughter installed malwarebytes this afternoon; ran the program, was told there was a lot of things to be "fixed" and she followed what it said to do. I was not home, so I cannot tell you what all it said and asking a 16 year old who's computer is now completely dead isn't going so well. She's ANGRY! So now when you turn on the PC it cycles between the Intel insignia and a black blank screen several times and then stays on the black screen. Have attempted safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, restore to previous known good config. Nothing changes; it just continues to cycle between Intel and black. I am at a loss and I've read the other issues people have and I cannot even get to anything other than the option for safe mode screen or the bios. What gives? Thoughts??

From your post it seems that your daughters computer was badly infected and in the removal of the infections there has been a problem.
