i686 Posted January 7, 2009 ID:45656 Share Posted January 7, 2009 hi' allI bought a licence for mbam thinking that it was worth it, just thinking about a real time protection,BUT, I'm running vista64, and so, I discovered that the real time protection module can't be launched with a 64b system, and there were a problem with the "start with windows" which product an error at every boot.so, I ask for a refund, as I could not be protected as I wished, and just a couple of days later, I got it right so, thanks a lot to all the team, fair play anyway, I still use it as a scanner as there is no better soft on the market to do a job like mbam does.yeah, guys, you all say it, mbam rocks !!waiting for a compatible 64b version ... hopefully soon i686

pgovotsos Posted January 19, 2009 ID:48952 Share Posted January 19, 2009 Just wanted to add myself to the list asking for a 64 bit version of MBAM. I bought this in the hopes of showing support for this product will encourage the developers to achieve this.Panagiotis

Now that it is standard on Dell's and HP's with more than 3 gigs of RAM, 64bit is becoming mainstream now...I now have several clients in po-dunk middle Tennessee with 64 bit systems....CW
capatt Posted February 26, 2009 ID:59912 Share Posted February 26, 2009 Two questions regarding use on a Vista x64 system:1. As an on-demand scanner, are there any limitations on its ability to remove malware?2. Is there a mailing list so one can get notified when a 64 bit version is available? Thanks! exile360 Posted February 26, 2009 ID:59915 Share Posted February 26, 2009 Greetings capatt and welcomeThere are limitations due to the fact that the drivers it uses for detection and removal (like the delete on reboot driver) are not 64bit compatible, that being said, the types of malware that would normally require this type of removal/detection suffer from the same 64bit incompatibility so these infection types rarely occur on 64bit systems, if at all (I've yet to see it happen myself).Unfortunately there is no mailing list, but once it is released I'm sure it will either be pushed out with normal updates (probably with a new version of the software that detects which version of Windows you're running and installs the appropriate drivers) and/or it will be announced here on the forum and on the main malwarebytes.org page. Kevin Allen Posted March 25, 2009 ID:67410 Share Posted March 25, 2009 Count me in on this... another 64bit VISTA user. I'll GLADLY pay for the pro version when you guys release this. I've been very happy with results of this software on 32bit systems.

I've been very happy with results of this software on 32bit systems.Don't worry, our developers are hard at work putting together the 64-bit version. There is no time table, and the internal beta is not ready yet, but work is most certainly progressing. It shouldn't be too long before we are beta testing this. TheMan Posted June 29, 2009 ID:94328 Share Posted June 29, 2009 While the realtime protection module does not load automatically on Vista 64-bit, I do get it to run manually. The MBAMservice.exe runs fine. Just start MBAM, select Protection, then click "Start Protection". Bada-boom, bada-bing.

There are currently no issues with the protection module loading automatically on 64-bit systems. It works quite nicely on my 64-bit Vista Ultimate. Are there any errors that cause you to not be able to have it start automatically, or does it just silently fail? Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted June 30, 2009 Root Admin ID:94341 Share Posted June 30, 2009 Agreed. I've had it working fine on both Vista w/SP1 x64 and on Windows 7 RC build 7100 x64 with no problems. If it's not loading properly then you may have some other security software conflict or may need to do the following.1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.2. Restart your computer (very important).3. Download and run this utility. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-clean.exe4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.phpNote: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray
exile360 Posted June 30, 2009 ID:94447 Share Posted June 30, 2009 Of course, also make sure to check the box next to Start with Windows under General settings on the Protection tab in the scanner's interface, or right-click the Malwarebytes' M in your taskbar if the protection module is running and select Start with Windows (basic stuff you probably already knew, but I thought I'd add it just in case ). I'll try the un- and reinstall procedure...I hadn't seen the good, apparently very-recent news about protection-module compatibility with Vista 64, but had just seen the recent posts by users requesting full compatibility.I'll report back later...
