erroe code 2, redirect undetected

when i boot up...i get this error

[OpenEvent] Failed to perform desired action. Error Code 2.

Then an OK box

Additionally, I have run the program multiple times without finding any malware... yet after doing a search on google and clicking on a link...I always get some redirected location ... additionally when this started it killed my windows.mail

Hello,

Please do the following:

• Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  
• It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  
• After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
  
  • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    
  • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
    Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Okay, but an error code 2 and a redirect are two different issues. As long as the error code 2 is now gone that is good. As for the redirect its possible you have an infection we're not detecting and will need further assistance. Please choose an option below and someone will assist you further. Thank you.

the error code 2 persists

I rebooted my machine because i need to work and the error code reappears

Well that error means the file is missing. That could be from AV or other security blocking it or it could be from malware blocking it, in which case you should choose one of the options listed and have someone assist you with checking your computer for malware.
