MBAM won't start

Recommended Posts

I was just on Wikipedia and out of nowhere I get a blue screen. First one I've gotten since I had to replace my hard drive 2 months ago. When I restarted windows ran but When I get to my desktop I got a message saying mbam failed to start. When I tried to start it myself from the start menu I got error message:

PROGRAM_ERROR_LOAD_DATABASE (-2146893820, -2146893820, CreateSDK)

Bad Length

It said please report error to support team so that's what I'm doing. I also have a windows update icon

but I'm not sure if it's legit since my last computer/hard-drive died after I downloaded updates. I think some malware pretends to be updates.

Any help is appreciated.

What version of Windows are you running? Please run the following scanner and post back the logs.

Download
DDS
and save it to your desktop

Disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.

Once downloaded you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.

Then double click
dds.scr
to run the tool.

When done, the
DDS.txt
will open.

Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.

When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:

  1. DDS.txt

  2. Attach.txt

  • Save both reports to your desktop
  • Please include the following logs in your next reply:
    DDS.txt
    and
    Attach.txt

Please click on START - RUN and copy/paste the entry below into the run line and click OK

cmd /c del /f /q "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref"

Then start MBAM and let it check for updates.

Let me know if that corrects it or not.

Thanks
