Question regarding scans

Recommended Posts

If my computer has 1 administrator and 2 standard user accounts on the C drive, when I schedule MBAM to scan at a certain time each day does the scan include all accounts, or just the account I am working in?

I've had 19 views and not one answer so guess I will try again. When I scan with Malwarebytes in my administrator account, does it scan all user profiles on the drive or do I have to log into each profile and scan? Please, I need an answer. Maybe those reading think it's just too dumb but I wouldn't ask if I knew the answer.

  • Root Admin

The entire drive is scanned but no the other profile registry hives. In most cases removal of the threat file if from another account may leave registry entries behind that may also need to be cleaned up.

If you've been infected please scan with an Admin account and if any issue remains with other accounts then scan with them as well. Normally only error messages are seen when the threat has been removed but the other user profile is pointing to a file that was removed it can show an error dialog box.
