New here - prob w/Google search being hijacked

Recommended Posts

Hi all, Did a search to figure out why Google started acting weirdly in the last couple of weeks or so. Search results look normal, but links are redirected to two or three weird sites in succession. The only way it seems I can reach the site I want in the search results is to click on the cache version first. there are times when the hijack doesn't happen, though, and I haven't been able to see any pattern. In reading about it, I discovered that there is some virus going around?

I am not a computer genius but not afraid to try a fix if someone gives me specific instructions. Anyway, I have never used Hijack This or MalwareBytes before. I just downloaded HJT and got a log report - should I post it here? I don't know what to look for in it. Please let me know - Thanks!

Logs will be closed if you haven't replied within 3 days

Please don't attach the scans / logs for these tools, use "copy/paste".

DO NOT use any TOOLS such as Combofix or HijackThis fixes without supervision.

Doing so could make your pc inoperatible and could require a full reinstall of your OS, losing all your programs and data.

Please run a new MBAM scan being sure to update before scanning.

Post the scan results

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Please don't attach the scans / logs, use "copy/paste".
