Update Problem

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I seem to be having a similar problem as others. I recently went to run Malwarebytes free and it advised of an update. Downloaded and installed update and now I can not get anything when I tell it to run.

I have done the suggested clean unstall/ reinstall and made sure that its is allowed with av and firewall. One thing though, when I restarted after the clean uninstall I was brought to the black dos screen and asked if I wanted to run XP Media Center.

I am running XP SP3

Avast 6

Online Armour

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Liza

Hello Liza59 and Welcome.

I'd like to run a small analysis tool.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from one of these links:

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.com

Double click dds.scr (or .com depending on which you’ve downloaded) to run the tool.

• When done, DDS will open two (2) logs

1. DDS.txt

2. Attach.txt

• Save both reports to your desktop, and attach both in reply.

Hi Liza59,

Let's try this different version of DDS

Download DDS from here

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/Beta/dds.exe

Double click it to run it. as it starts, click the + sign next to "Options for dds.txt" then remove the check from the box which says "check MBR"

Ensure there is a check next to "attach.txt"

Next, click Start. It should run and produce 2 logs for you, DDS.txt and Attach.txt

Save those logs and attach them in reply.
