Help, Clicked On Link From Friends Hacked Email Account.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

My friends email was hacked and was sending out malicious links. I clicked on the link thinking it was a video or something my friend wanted me to see.

I realized that this might be bad before the page fully loaded.

I have run scans with Malewarebytes, Norton Anti-virus, Microsoft security essential, and SuperAntiSpyware. Nothing seems to be found other than tracking cookies.

What else can I do to ensure I didn't infect my computer?

I did a URL scan with Virus Total and it doesn't have anything on record. Here is a link to the data from Virus Total.

My link

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello FederalPilot:

All your subsequent actions were quite excellent. If you have MBAM PRO and it's fully enabled/updated you have an additional level of protection on your side.

You can always do scans with your best anti-virus application and MBAM in a day or so to see if the newest malware signatures match anything.

Having two (2) active anti-virus applications though can be harmful...

HTH :)
