Paypal infection

Hi,

This only happens in IE8 and not in Google Chrome.

When I try to login to my Paypal account I get a popup asking for my credit card number also my ATM pin#.

I have scanned with AVG free(daily) Malware bites and Microsoft essentials to no avail.

They all tell me my computer is 'clean'.

I have no idea what is wrong and I don't know what else I can try.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim,

This is an issue that the experts here can probably better advise you on. But, I happen to have a PayPal account myself and logged on a few minutes ago (using IE8), and got no popups of the type you mentioned.

To me...it sounds like a phishing scam. Have you contacted PayPal about this issue to see what they have to say?

Hi Pete,

I spent time on the phone with Paypal as I realized it was bogus. They could not help.

I spent time on the phone with AVG and as it was'nt an AVG problem they wanted $129.00 to help.

I am convinced My IE8 is infected.

I will try your link CWB.

Thanks,

Jim
