Internet causing malwarebytes tray icon not to respond. When I surf in FF 5.0.1 or IE 8 when I close the browser the MBAM icon does not respond to any clicks. I have to manually close mbamservice and re-enable protection.

Info:

MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.51.0.1200 (PRO)

I think when the balloon popup warning me about a malicious IP the icon locked up. I uninstalled, ran mbam-clean, reinstalled, then ran THIS script that fixed the problem SO FAR.

Hello,

1PW, the current consumer version number is: 1.51.0.1200

As for your issue Bugen,

Please Download OTL to your Desktop:

To Use OTL:

  • Get OTL From
HERE
Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
OTL should now start. Change the following settings
Change Drivers to All
Change Standard Registry to All
Under File Scans, change File age to 30
Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt (first run only). These are saved in the same location as OTL.
Please attach these 2 files in your next reply.

Thank you.

Hello,

The problem is all fixed. I now get popup alerts from mbam about malicious IP addresses and the freezing is gone.

1PW,

I have re-registered and just updated to v1.51.1.1800 after reading your post. THANK YOU :D

Mainard,

Why do I need to run OTL if the problem is fixed?
