Anti-Malware won't run more than once w/out reinstallation....

Recommended Posts

So, I downloaded a bit-torrent requiring zip extraction. After the attempt with TugZip, Windows Explorer crashes every time I go 2 deep in the file sub-directory system on the external FreeAgent Desk drive.

...ran Anti-Malware on the drive and at least 3 infections found, then BlueScreen crash and restart while I'm napping. (The drive is 1.5 T-bytes.)

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is then unable to restart from desktop or from the taskbar scan module option after the first use. Taskbar icon is operative, showing a series of outgoing IP addresses stopped.

Program is only available after additional re-installation.

PC Error dump after

Running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, 3 infections found on external G:\

BCCode : 9c BCP1 : 00000002 BCP2 : 8054E170 BCP3 : B6002000

BCP4 : 0000017A OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product : 256_1

Restarting Anti-Malware gives following errors:

vbAccelerator SGrid II Control

Run-time error '0'

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

Run-time error '440'

Automation error

What's up with that...~?

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please do the following:

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Next, download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post only DDS.txt directly into your reply.
