Question about Avira

I have the newest version of Avira. This morning I got a pop-up from Avira saying to download and install a feature called "Web Guard." I did so and after installation was instructed to re-boot. After reboot, I noted that the "umbrella" icon is closed. I went to "Status" and it says "Guard" is on but "Web Guard" is deactivated. I tried configuration and can't find a way to turn "Web Guard" to activate.

It concerns me that the little umbrella is closed, even though my status says Avira Anti-virus is on. My control panel also says it's on.

Hi, Leila:

This sub-forum might not be the ideal spot to post your question about Avira security software.

This board is....

A place to introduce yourself and talk about general things apart from malware, politics and religion. Please keep anything clean.

So, you might have better luck (and more traffic) at the PC Help forum here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showforum=6?

Until an MBAM expert who uses Avira comes along to answer your question more specifically, you might want to check here: http://forum.avira.com/wbb/?

Hi Leila

Are you using a paid version or a free version of Avira?

Apparently the WebGuard is only included to the paid version. Users of the free version must install the opt-in Ask toolbar ( <_< ) to make WebGuard work...

Please read details here: http://forum.avira.com/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&postID=1090501#post1090501

Does this information help?
