malwarebyte keeps blocking downloader.exe

Greetings :)

It sounds like something is persistently trying to bring the infection into your system. Let's start with the following, and if it does not resolve the issue, then proceed to Step 2:

Step 1:

  • Open Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and click the Update tab then click the Check for Updates button.
  • Once the update is complete, click on the Scanner tab and make sure that the Perform quick scan option is selected and click the Scan button.
  • Once the scan completes, a message will pop up saying that it completed successfully, click OK.
  • Next, please click the Show Results button on the lower right (assuming anything was found).
  • Once there make sure all the detected threats are checked and click on the Remove Selected button. If asked to reboot, do so.

If that resolved the issue then you shouldn't need to do anything else, however, if it did not, then please proceed with the following:

Step 2:

Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then create a NEW topic here.

One of the expert helpers there will give you one on one assistance when one becomes available.

Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help.

If it's blocking it and you're clicking on the Quarantine button, then it is removing it, but something on your system keeps bringing it back, probably another infection so please follow the directions in Step 2 above to have your system checked and cleaned by a malware removal specialist.
