I had Spyware Guard 2008 last night, downloaded your software, and now it's gone. The only problem is, is that it jacked with my regedit and my task manager. I can't pull task manager up at all and it won't allow me to go into regedit. It won't allow me to make any administrator changes at all. Are there any programs that can restore this?

Greetings and welcome to Malwarebytes' FJSchmoozer. Please refer to AdvancedSetup's instructions here to see if it is helpful: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...amp;#entry35969 After that, I would highly recommend you read the instructions here:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936

and post your logs in a new topic here:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7

Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are

instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult.

I hope I was helpful. Good luck and safe surfing.

Well, unfortunately I was assisting a user earlier with the same infection and everything we tried to regain his privelages failed which means there's most likely some leftover component of the infection remaining. I really would recommend that you post those logs in the Malwarebytes' HijackThis forum so that one of the experts can look over your logs and help you get completely cleaned up as well as repair the issues with your user privelages. I really wish there were something more that I could do, but like I said, we tried just about everything short of reinstalling Windows as far as restoring the privelages go and no matter what tool, script or trick we used, he just got access denied messages and/or no effect. I really do wish I had a simple fix for this, but neither I nor an expert who jumped in to assist could come up with a simple one step fix and even the expert recommended he post the logs so he could help him clean it up. If you want to see all that we tried, you can have a look at this thread: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=8699

Excellent, again, I'm sorry I don't have an easy one step fix for this, but it is an incredibly tenacious infection. Please be sure to post your logs here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7 because that's where the experts look for logs to do manual cleanups. Good luck to you.

Would I just be better off reinstalling Windows? It's a newer computer, only had it about a week, so it wouldn't be that big of deal. How hard would it be to do? I've never done it before. Also, it's a netbook, so it doesn't have a cd drive, and the restore disk is a cd, so I would have to do it from a flash drive or an SD card. Do you have any experience with that?
