Constantly Changing Updated FQDN?

Hello,

As an Enterprise user that utilizes a proxy as an additional layer of security, we've run into the issue of the updater not working between different versions several times. Throwing a sniffer on the problem, it appears you change the update URL arbitrarily among versions.

Is there somewhere this is announced?

It's extremely troublesome to have a random set of 50 users call in because their installation of MBAM can't update due to the URL changing and our proxy is now blocking it.

Hello.

As a licensed reseller, affiliate, corporate\business, non-profit or government user or tech shop, your current inquiry is eligible for Malwarebytes

We didn't renew our support contract due to this problem and no enterprise management capability. We're waiting to see how well your enterprise product works.

In the mean time, would you address the original question? Is this information published or are customers notified of the update URL change?

We use a Content Deliver Network which is designed for fail over to use the best available address. You simply need to modify your proxy to allow the DNS name and not the IP address as most Corporate customers do and you should not have an issue.

Thank you.

We do allow by name, but it appears you have changed from a malwarebytes.org subdomain to mbamupdates.org. Will it stay as mbamupdates.org for the foreseeable future?

Hi Matt

That information was changed a long time ago so not sure why you would be having an issue only lately.

You really should contact sales or send me your Cleverbridge order reference number so that we can work directly with you to ensure you have everything working correctly.

You can either send me a Private Message with the information or you can send an email to corporate-support@malwarebytes.org with the information and we'll help you out directly.

I'm going to close this topic - please contact me either by email or private message so that I can assist you further.

Thanks Matt
