Hi - I just used MBam to successfully (I think) remove FakeAlert!grb trojan. I ran it three times, and the logs showed 5, then 3, then 0 infected items.

However, now my Dell Inspiron 6400 (XP Pro SP3) laptop has all its desktop items and Start Menu items (including All Programs) hidden.

I've read various others have had similar problems, and yet resolving this seems not so straightforward. I've run unhide.exe, which restored the quicklinks in the Start Menu, but not those in the "All Programs >" section. I've manually unhidden some/most user documents, but I'd appreciate help in sorting this completely.

All help gratefully received! TIA.

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Delete your copy of unhide.exe.

Please download Unhide.exe by Grinler and save it to your Desktop.

Run it, then restart your computer.

Please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Next, download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post only DDS.txt directly into your reply.
