I hope I am posting this in the right place.

I used Malwarebtes & others with the help of another forum to clean up a virus in my computer.

Today I went to scan again with MWB & couldn't. I deleted it & reinstalled it then got the message

below.

I looked & the icon was on my desktop so I clicked it.. updated it & it did a scan.

After I scanned all I could do was aborted & the icon disappeared. I clicked the download Icon hopping to install it but it wouldn't.. It did say there was already a MWB folder & did I want to install to it.. I clicked YES but got the message below again. I did a search & the only folder had "mbamext.dll" in it.

What can I do now as I do want Malwarebytes.

Thanks,

Greetings and welcome, this post should have the info you need to get it to install: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7377 I hope it helps, if not, post back and let me know.

I went where U told me to.. followed the instructions.. installed the batch file & still get the same message :)

What can I do now to get MWB installed?

I have downloaded & installed so much my brain is in overload..

I THINK it was when I tried to install MWB why else would I get the last message .. (the message of not being able to register )

What would I search for to see if visualBasic6 is on my computer?

I did a search for visualBasic6-kB896559-v1-vno & found nothing. Is there something better to search for?

I need to write clearer post both for U & me in case I forget.

When I reboot I am getting this:

post-6781-1229839461_thumb.jpg

I don't know what it means.. not good I am sure though.

That's because the startup entry from MBAM doesn't have quotes in the right place.

Please uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, reboot your computer, download and run this tool, reboot again, and then download and install Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

I'm about to fall asleep on my keyboard, so I'll leave your HijackThis log to someone else. At a glance it doesn't look bad, but I could be missing something.

I still get error messages..NOW what

We can fix the one on startup easily. Start HijackThis back up, and do another scan.

Now put check marks in the boxes to the left of each entry that I list below:

O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Notifier BHO - {AF69DE43-7D58-4638-B6FA-CE66B5AD205D} - C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier\4.1.805.4472\swg.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware] C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe /install /silent

I noticed you have a lot of security software. Please try turning it all off when installing MBAM, because it's probably preventing MBAM from installing drivers that it needs to detect malware with. You can turn your security software back on once MBAM is properly installed.

Also, do you currently have ZoneAlarm firewall installed?

I deleted the 2 files & it booted up normally this time.. tried to install MWB after turning off all security but with no luck.. I was able to ignore & get it to install (after a couple of clicks) I wasn't able to do that before. I hope it scans correctly. It is not what I wanted but I guess that's the best I am going to get. If there is anything else I can do please let me know..

Thanks for being so patient & all the help.
