Please be patient with me!

I'm sixty and not as quick as I would like to be.

My OS is XP\service pack 3.

The Huntbar.Stoolbar keeps reappearing on my PC.

This is a recent phenomena. By that I mean the last few months.

I run Malwarebytes and Spybot in the safe mode. I reboot before running each program.

Spybot detects Huntbar more frequently.

Today it spotted a registry entry.

I gave Ad-Aware a try today and it found six entries.

Over the years I've used various internet software suites. Bitdefender and all the other major players.

Currently I'm using 2011 Norton Internet Security.

The Huntbar malware goes back for years.

How is this thing able to get past Norton? Having said that I haven't always used Ad-Aware, Spybot, and Malwarebytes.

All the settings; firewall, intrusion settings, and ect. are enabled.

I don't access adult oriented sites. I do Google for landscape and wildlife images to be used as wallpaper.

What I've notice is that sometimes when I click on an image I can't get out of the site by trying to return to the previous page.

I close Firefox immediately.

I just want this thing to be stopped dead in its tracks.

Norton has on a number of occasions of warned of an intrusion being prevented.

Huntbar keeps getting past Norton.

Needless to say I'm concerned about sensitive data.

I'll appreciate any tutoring.

Greetings :)

We don't work on malware removal in this part of the forums.

Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then create a NEW topic here.

One of the expert helpers there will give you one on one assistance when one becomes available.

Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help.

If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you.

If you prefer to be assisted via email you may contact support@malwarebytes.org and one of our support staff members will assist you directly.

If you are a reseller, affiliate, technician, corporate, business, educational, government or non-profit customer then please contact corporate-support@malwarebytes.org and include full contact details along with your Reference # when you do to ensure that you receive prompt assistance.

Thank you :)
