Is nothing sacred? I was looking at pictures of tile! Not porn...tile for my wife and I to re-do our kitchen; and I got zapped.

Never been this bad off. Can't escape redirects from Guest account, nor safe mode. I'm on my wife's Mac, asking for help.

This started off my saying "hard drive error, please reboot" and now appears to be XP Recovery whatever. No answers.

Help? Thanks,

CD

OK...I was able to do an mbytes quick scan, found 1 object and removed it (I have the log if anyone needs me to post it). I then installed and ran avira, seemingly without any issues.

Still not sure I'm completely clean, and like another poster...it appears many of my files have been moved to another directory. I'm tempted to follow posted instructions for his issue, as mine is similar, but I know that's a no-no here; each case is supposed to be handled individually.

So I'm waiting further recovery instructions.

Thanks,

CD

Wow...this thing is killing me! Ran Avira...22 issues. Quarantined what it could.

Lots of programs still not working; having to go ALL over the place and un-hide files that were set to hidden (or have just gone missing). And my IE settings all all screwed up and I keep getting redirects when I try to Google search for help.

Man, this thing did a number on me!

I have to tell ya...I have never gotten one iota of help here! EVER! I guess because I don't follow all the many, many, many, many rules!

I post in my thread...because I'm trying to help myself and update with what I've done. And that makes people think I'm being helped elsewhere? Give me a break.

This forum is probably responsible for half of these things to begin with. You know what they say...it takes a thief to catch a thief.

Thanks for NOTHING!
