I'm another one of the poor fools infected with "XP Anti-Spyware" malware, with all its irritating popups. I really could use some help coping with it.

I followed some of the basic advice from this thread:

http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=81995

i.e. clearing Java Cache, running ATF cleaner, and tried to install Malwarebytes, but it didn't execute, even when I tried to run the file from a USB or re-named it on the USB before attaching it to the computer.

One thing I did notice is that when I opened Java in the Control Panel, "Anti-Spyware" popped up and oxx.exe appeared in the Task Manager (I was running in Safe Mode). The same thing happened when I double-clicked on the Malwarebytes Installer.

I'm running Windows XP SP3.

Any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated - I really don't want to have to re-install everytthing! Thanks a million!

Just to update: I followed the instructions from bleepingcomputer.com (http:/www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-win-7-internet-security-2011)which appears to have fixed the problem, thanks to your software - the popups have stopped, I can run Firefox again, and oxx.exe does not appear in the Task Manager.

Just to make sure, I'm positng the Anti-Malware and HijackThis! logs here, I'd be very grateful if someone could take a look at them. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Next, download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post only DDS.txt directly into your reply.
