MBAM issue with MSFT MediaCenter.dll

I recently downloaded MBAM and tried to run a full scan. Every time the scan got to the Microsoft.MediaCenter.dll object the scan froze. I tried it in both Normal and Safe Mode - got the same result both time. I was able to scan with Avast and Spyware Doctor without a problem. When I tried to scan with Ad-Aware it also froze when it hit that same object (after 5 hours of scanning). Any thoughts on why that dll object is causing the scan to freeze up?

Also, when I run the quick scan option in MBAM, it makes it all the way through and lists 231 infected objects (all adware objects). I remove them and delete the quarantine list, and when I scan, they are all listed again.

I'm a novice at this so any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like the file could be corrupt. Please try the instructions posted in Section L of our FAQ located here (you can obviously skip the Safe Mode step since you've already done that, which is also what leads me to believe the file itself may be corrupt in addition to the fact that Ad-Aware is freezing on the same file).

You can also attempt to use SFC to repair the file. Instructions and options on how to do so can be found here.
